If you'd like to sing with us, you can try it out at our open rehearsal in Priestfield Church on Wednesday 22nd February. Please contact us for details.
Even if you can't make that date, we will be glad to hear from you. Here's our contact address . You might like to read on first, to make sure that Rudsambee matches what you want.
We are an Edinburgh-based a cappella choir. We rehearse in Morningside on Wednesday evenings. We keep our numbers to about twenty singers. Currently we have a few vacancies for all voices, and we would particularly welcome a bass and a tenor to join us.
We perform a wide variety of music, whether it be folk songs from Iceland or the Balkans or choral music, from Tallis to Tormis. We sing both secular and religious music in many languages.
We enjoy working together to create high-quality performances. We make space in our diaries for concerts, we attend rehearsals, we arrive on time, and we sometimes memorize music and words in unfamiliar languages. That means that we are not a "turn up and sing when you feel like it" group.
You need to sing in tune and in time, and you need to read music. That said, we don't expect classically trained voices, or note-perfect singing at first sight.
You can find more information on the other pages of this web site. If you want to hear us, you can come to one of our concerts or listen to our CDs (which you can borrow from the Music Library on George IV Bridge).
