a cappella in Edinburgh

Rudsambee is a small choir based in Edinburgh. We sing a rich repertoire of choral music in some beautiful settings.

Our summer concerts in 2025 will place the emphasis on music with a Scottish connection - some traditional, some old, some new. Come and hear what we've found!

We're delighted to have found 2 new altos as a result of our Open Evening on April 2nd but we'd also welcome more singers in all the other sections. If you think you might be interested in singing with Rudsambee and would like to come along to a rehearsal to hear what we do, please e-mail us!

Our next concert is on Sunday 14th September at 6.00pm in St Giles’ Cathedral. Click the button for details:

A choir with a difference

Our musical director since 2023 is Ian Munro. Ian, (BMus (Hons), MMus), is active as a percussionist, organist, pianist conductor and arranger. He is currently Musical Director of the Pentland Singers and Traquair Choir and was until recently Musical Director of the Kilmarnock & District Choral Union. He is Organist & Choirmaster at St. Machar’s Ranfurly Church in Bridge of Weir, where he enjoys playing for Sunday worship and directing both the Church Choir and Junior Choir. He is also on the instrumental staff at St. Aloysius’ College in Glasgow.

We’ve enjoyed many successful concerts with Ian now in some wonderful settings including Rosslyn Chapel, St Giles Cathedral, and Dunblane Cathedral, and we’re preparing for many more in the year ahead.

We’d welcome more singers in all sections. If you’re interested in joining us then please see more details on the ‘Join us’ link on the main menu and e-mail contact@rudsambee.org.uk. We’re a friendly bunch!

We’d be delighted to sing for your function or event. See our contact page for information.

We enjoy occasional exchange visits. If you think your group may be compatible in size and style, and you’d enjoy a trip to Edinburgh, then, again, please e-mail contact@rudsambee.org.uk
